avatarBgClass() built its class name via template-literal interpolation
(`bg-avatar-${i + 1}`). Tailwind's build finds utility classes by statically
scanning source text for complete class-name strings -- a dynamically
assembled name is invisible to that scan, so `.bg-avatar-1` through
`.bg-avatar-11` were never generated in the compiled CSS at all. Every
avatar in the app (chat list, conversation header, message bubbles, detail
panel) rendered with a fully transparent background instead of its color --
the element's className looked correct in the DOM, which is why this
shipped across several commits before being caught by checking computed
style rather than the class name itself.
Fixed by writing the 11 class names out as a literal array Tailwind's
scanner can actually see.

React + TypeScript + Vite
This template provides a minimal setup to get React working in Vite with HMR and some Oxlint rules.
Currently, two official plugins are available:
- @vitejs/plugin-react uses Oxc
- @vitejs/plugin-react-swc uses SWC
React Compiler
The React Compiler is not enabled on this template because of its impact on dev & build performances. To add it, see this documentation.
Expanding the Oxlint configuration
If you are developing a production application, we recommend enabling type-aware lint rules by installing oxlint-tsgolint and editing .oxlintrc.json:
{
"$schema": "./node_modules/oxlint/configuration_schema.json",
"plugins": ["react", "typescript", "oxc"],
"options": {
"typeAware": true
},
"rules": {
"react/rules-of-hooks": "error",
"react/only-export-components": ["warn", { "allowConstantExport": true }]
}
}
See the Oxlint rules documentation for the full list of rules and categories.
